Howard Hamlin and Paul Cayard win Elvstrom Zellerbach Regatta

Eight 5O5 teams competed in the Elvstrom Zellerbach Regatta at St Francis Yacht Club last weekend. The late invitation explained some of the light attendance. And the weather, or was it swine flu, explains a few more (Mike, Mike, Nick, Jeff, Bruce).

The 2009 505 Kings of the Bay Regatta is scheduled for the June 27-28 weekend and will once again be hosted by the Treasure Island Sailing Center. Our goal is to mirror the 2009 Worlds in race format and course location to provide competitors with a realistic tune-up for the Worlds.

2009 PCC's at Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club

The weekend of April 25/26 had us heading to Los Angeles for the 2009 Pacific Coast Championship's. Amongst the fleet were no less than 7 former winners of the event as well as a past Snipe and two I14 World Champions. Saturday was windy with a big messy chop and Sunday was light with a big messy chop. Don Zinn and his crew did an excellent job of turning around races in challenging conditions and supplying us with beer and food after racing, thanks! Winning crew Peter Alarie has the following report.
